Cube Volume Calculator
Enter the length of one side to calculate volume, surface area, face diagonal and total edge length.
Cube volume formula
A cube has six equal square faces and twelve equal edges. If its side length is s, its volume is V = s³. Multiply the side length by itself three times to find the space inside the cube.
Surface area and diagonal formulas
The total surface area is A = 6s², because each of the six faces has an area of s². The diagonal across one square face is d = s√2. The combined length of all twelve edges is 12s.
Example
For a cube with a side length of 5 cm, the volume is 125 cm³, the surface area is 150 cm², and the face diagonal is approximately 7.07 cm. The total edge length is 60 cm.
Units matter
Volume is measured in cubic units, while surface area is measured in square units. Keep the entered side length in one unit and use the displayed unit labels to interpret the results correctly.
